Noney district deputy commissioner and chairperson, district Disaster Management Authority, Haulianial Guite on Sunday issued an advisory to the public of Makhuam village, urging them to stay alert and not to move around a site located above Makhuam (Marangching part-5) village until further notice.

The advisory issued by the DC mentioned that railway authorities based in Noney reported a loud sound around 11 am Sunday. As a result, they conducted an investigation in the area, and soil movements were found in the hills around 726CP2 to 727P1, it stated.

“This site is located above Marangching part 5 village, so that the entire village, including the Marangching school, is in its shadow zone,” it stated.
