MAHUD Minister Henry Okram on Thursday made a surprise visit at Thangal and Paona Keithel and inspected illegal construction of shops and buildings, registration and valid licence of shops, illegal encroachments, illegal garbage dumping among others. Accompanied by officials of MAHUD and Imphal Municipal Corporation, Henry Okram made the surprise visit in the early hours on foot from Khuyathong to Paona Keithel.

The MAHUD minister also checked the registration certificates and shop licences on the spot and urged the shopkeepers to pay their taxes in time to avoid legal action. During the visit, Henry Okram instructed the City Police personnel to monitor and check the overnight parking in the Thangal and Paona Keithel. He urged the residents of the area to park their vehicles in the Naga Nullah parking space which was earlier inaugurated by Chief Minister N Biren Singh recently. During his inspection, the minister also interacted with the sanitation workers of the Imphal Municipal Corporation and heard their grievances.
