The 13th Foundation Day of the Land Port Authority of India (LPAI) was celebrated at Integrated Check Post (ICP) Moreh on Wednesday.
Commemorating the 13th foundation day, a one-day cleanliness drive was also organised in and around the ICP campus of the LPLAI in Moreh. The cleanliness drive was held under the theme, ‘Live life cleaner, make ICP Campus greener’.
Integrated Check Post (ICP) Moreh manager T Baite stressed the need for protection of the environment and keeping the surrounding areas clean and green.
Highlighting the importance of cleanliness, T Baite said, “Besides keeping the body safe from various diseases, it also helps develop positive vibes for the spirit.”
He also expressed gratitude to all the stakeholders for their constant support and cooperation.
Staff of ICP Moreh and stakeholders such as Immigration, Land Custom Station, Border Guard Force(Assam Rifles) joined the celebration.
The Government of India has set up Integrated Check Posts (ICPs) at international land borders with Myanmar with the aim to facilitate cross-border trade and movement of passengers. It was established to give impetus to trade between India and the South Asian Countries, including Myanmar.
