Several bottles of Indian-made foreign liquor were seized on Thursday from two places at Mantop Leikai, Churachandpur district by a team of Churachandpur police led by its OC, inspector N Thangzamuan under the supervision of additional SP (Ops) and SP of the district.
According to the police, based on reliable information, the team raided the houses of one Laishram Ranjan, 32, son of L Dwijamani of Mantop Leikai, Churachandpur district. During the raid, 96 Kingfisher can beers, 240 quarter bottles of Mc rum, 144 quarter bottles of Mc whiskey, 48 half bottles of Romanov vodka, 72 half bottles of Old Monk rum and 24 half bottles of Mc whiskey were seized.
Later, the police team also raided the house of Nongthombam Basanta, 46, son of N Gorbadhon of Mantop Leikai and seized 80 litres of DIC liquor, 288 Kingfisher can beers, 96 Turborg can beers, 288 quarter bottles of Old Monk rum, 144 half bottles of Old Monk rum, 336 quarter bottles of Mc Whisky and 72 half bottles of Mc rum, it added.
The total seized liquors worth around Rs 3 lakh were disposed of in the afternoon at Mata disposal site in the presence of media persons.
