Legal awareness campaigns reach old age, children homes in Imphal West

essential items such as Masks, Hand sanitiser, and dry ration etc. were distributed to charity homes.

A door-to-door legal awareness programme on ‘Equal Justice and Free Legal Aid’ organised under the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) Pan India Awareness and Outreach Campaign reached old age homes and children homes in Imphal West on Tuesday.

As a part of the campaign, essential items such as masks, hand sanitisers, and dry ration etc. were distributed.

A team visited Punya, IWCDC and SAA, Thangmeiband; Langol Old Age Home, Lagol; Destitute Children Home, Tera; Observation Home, Takyel; Deaf and Mute School, Takyel; The Government Ideal Blind School, Takyel; Rural Women and Children Development Welfare Association, Tabungkhok; Nirvana Foundation, POCSO, Ghari; Nirvana Foundation, Children Home, Ghari; Observation Home for Girls, Langthabal; BB Paul Mental Development Home, Mongsangei; Shree Shree Radha Madan Mohan Nampala, Khangempali; Children Home run by United Social Development Association, Sagolband.

It was led by District and Sessions Judge, Imphal West A Guneshwar Sharma and accompanied by Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal West Y Somorjit Singh media coordinator Salam Devananda (Devan) and other legal officials.

It may be mentioned that as a part of NALSA’s Pan India awareness and outreach campaign, all District Legal Services Authorities (DLSA) under the Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) launched a special 15-day door-to-door campaign. The campaign was organised to identify the marginalised, vulnerable and those needing help and ensure that their rights and entitlements are actualised in reality.
