Last rites of Irengbam Chaoren conducted

Floral tributes were paid to the former president by various communities as a part of the ceremony.

The ‘Lanna Thouram’ (last rites) of former president of the proscribed Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF) Irengbam Chaoren alias Bhorot was organised at his birthplace, Khagempalli Huidrom Leikai, Imphal West on Monday.

The ceremony was attended by members of various ethnic communities in their traditional attire. Floral tributes were paid to the former president by various communities as a part of the ceremony. 

He was born on November 2, 1957 and was the eldest son among the three sons of late Irengbam Ibomcha and Irengbam Ongbi Jamuna.

Besides being the chief of the outfit, Chaoren took his last breath as convenor of the proscribed CorCom, a conglomerate of seven armed outfits of Manipur.

Former chairman of an underground outfit, RK Sanayaima alias Meghen also came to take part in the ceremony.
