Paying homage and tributes to the volunteers who sacrificed their lives to protect the territorial integrity of Manipur in the ongoing conflict, the ‘Langbal Chara Tamba’ observation organised by Peace and integrity Committee Kyamgei (PICK) was held at Canchipur Leishang Hiden, Imphal on Saturday.

Large number of students, women and people from all walks of life paid floral tribute to brave martyrs. The attendees also offered the traditional ‘Heisoi’ to the images of the martyrs.

Speaking to media on the sidelines, PICK convenor Ch Meghachandra expressed disappointment over the silence of Kuki CSOs in connection with the murder of the two children.

“If they are truly concerned about the safety of innocent victims they would have condemned the crime but their silence says otherwise,” he said.

He demanded authorities to ramp up the investigation of the murder case and maintained that the people would not remain quiet until the culprits involved are punished.
