Manipur BJP chief spokesperson Ch Bijoy on Saturday stated L Raghumani, who got the BJP ticket for Uripok Assembly Constituency was supported by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) who knew of his corrupt practices.

Bijoy, who was also an aspiring candidate from the same constituency, alleged that there is a conspiracy between RSS and announcement of BJP ticket for Uripok assembly constituency.

Bijoy told the media at his residence at Lamphel, Imphal West that RSS has become an organisation which do not have accountability but have power.

“Power without accountability is very dangerous and I am referring to RSS”, said state BJP chief spokesperson.

He strongly condemned the statement made by BJP candidate L Raghumani Sharma, through a phone call that went viral recently defaming BJP aspiring candidates like Bijoy and Minabanta wherein the candidate stated that they tried to negotiate with Raghumani to withdraw their candidature by offering money.

“I joined BJP in 1994 and I will take it as an insult for giving BJP candidate ticket to Raghumani who joined the party about three months ago and for not taking any necessary steps for defaming me who is a senior member of BJP”, said the BJP chief spokesperson.

Further, Bijoy said people can conduct a drive against taking bribes during the time of election and by emphasising to promote the local party. In the present political scenario, the strength of local parties has become weak due to lack of financial support. People could save those local parties if the drive against taking bribes at the time of election is removed, he added.

He appealed to the people to choose only the two Bonafide national parties in order to save Manipur.

He further said that in the coming election he will not cast his vote or he will cast his vote to NOTA.

“I am not against BJP but I will not support BJP candidate of Uripok assembly constituency”, Bijoy asserted.
