The Coordination Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) on Sunday alleged that the memorandum recently submitted by the 10 Kuki MLAs to the Prime Minister, appealing not to withdraw Assam Rifles from the state, clearly indicates that Assam Rifles is in favour of the Chin Kuki Narco Terrorists.
COCOMI media coordinator, Yumkhaibam Surjitkumar Khuman, in a release, said that people of the strife-torn state have allegedly witnessed the one sided nature of the Assam Rifles among the two warring communities during the conflict which broke out on May 3, 2023 and continuing for over 15 months with no end in sight.
It accused the Assam Rifles of remaining a silent spectator to the attacks on the people, their properties and hampering state forces in carrying out their activities and indicated that such acts of favouritism on their part which raised suspicion among the public of their role during the violence.

It further mentioned that there are concrete evidences allegedly showing the AR supporting the Narco-terrorists involved in the crisis, thereby failing to perform their duties to curb counter insurgency in the North East. It lamented that various unlawful activities such as poppy plantation, drug trafficking etc are allegedly carried out right under their noses.
It pointed out that amid allegations and speculations of AR favouring some communities and supporting their hidden agendas, several Kuki civil society organisations such as Kuk Inpi, ITLF, COTU etc. have issued press notes declaring their support to AR. It noted that there were no objections whatsoever from the same CSOs and the 10 Kuki MLAs when other central forces like CRPF, BSF, Jat regiment, Gorkha regiment etc. left the state.
It reiterated that the same clearly indicates that the Assam Rifles is allegedly favouring one community and complicit in extending the conflict in the state. It went on to say that COCOMI and the general public have no issues with the remaining central forces such as CRPF, BSF, CISF, ITBP, SSB, Jat Regiment, Gorkha Regiment, (CAPF) Army etc.
