The Kuki Students’ Organisation (KSO), Chandel district has urged the state government to fulfil the demands of All Manipur Hill Districts MGNREGS Employees Association (AMHDMEA) at the earliest.
The KSO has stated that AMHDMEA has been demanding regularisation of service for MGNERGS employees of the hill districts. However, the state government has turned deaf ears to their demands despite repeated appeal, it said.
It also mentioned that the service of MGNREGS employees of the valley districts have already been regularised four years ago but unfortunately so far no such service regularisation process has been initiated in the hill districts by the government. Such discriminatory acts of the state may result in trust deficit and can have larger ramifications in impairing the bonding between hills and valley, asserted KSO.
It continued that for smooth functioning and running of MGNREGS MIS works in Chandel district, its staffs play an important role in order to provide better service to job card holders and they have worked hard tirelessly for the past many years. The MGNREGS employees of hill districts too are long sufferers and they equally deserve regularisation of their service, it added.
While endorsing the demands of regularisation of service of AMHDMEA, the student body further said that it will render full support for the betterment of the job cardholders.
