Kangleipak Kanba Lup (KKL), Manipur on Sunday appealed to the state government to devise a strong policy to save the indigenous population of the state against the influx of the non-Manipuris.
In a release KKL stated that the Indian government’s ‘Family Planning’ programme had reduced birth rate in the state significantly.
It expressed concern over the influx of non-Manipuris from the neighbouring regions, “which poses a threat of becoming the majority population in the state.”
