KKL appeals government to save indigenous population

In a release KKL stated that the Indian government’s ‘Family Planning’ programme had reduced birth rate in the state significantly.

Kangleipak Kanba Lup (KKL), Manipur on Sunday appealed to the state government to devise a strong policy to save the indigenous population of the state against the influx of the non-Manipuris.

In a release KKL stated that the Indian government’s ‘Family Planning’ programme had reduced birth rate in the state significantly.

It expressed concern over the influx of non-Manipuris from the neighbouring regions, “which poses a threat of becoming the majority population in the state.”
