Unfortunately, the dam remained non-functional since its inaugural, the farmers association requested the minister concerned to mount pressure and bring it into a functional stage. 

The Khoupum Area Village Authority (KAVAC) also requested minister Awangbow for immediate response as the water volume has risen due to incessant rainfall across the state. 

Awangbow along with D Gangmei also inspected the EE quarter, and Chowkidar quarter.  D Gangmei said that khoupum dam could benefit the farmer and attract lots of tourists at the same time. 

He also appealed to the public to give full cooperation when the government official or related department approaches.  Awangbow said that all the non-functional canals, water turbines, outlet pipelines will be repaired as soon as possible.
