Kargil Vijay Diwas 2022: Manipur joins nation in observing 23rd Kargil war anniversary
Chief Minister N Biren Singh said the selfless contribution and unrelenting sacrifices of the bravehearts will never be forgotten.

Manipur on Tuesday observed the Kargil Vijay Diwas at the Banquet Hall of the 1st Battalion Manipur Rifles, Imphal to mark the 23rd anniversary of India's victory over Pakistan at the Kargil war in 1999.
Attending the function as the chief guest, Chief Minister N Biren Singh said the selfless contribution and unrelenting sacrifices of the bravehearts will never be forgotten.
"On this day, let us salute the bravehearts, who fought valiantly at the Kargil War and brought glory to our nation. Their selfless contribution and unrelenting sacrifices will never be forgotten," CM Biren said in a Facebook post.

Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh, who attended the function as president, said the victory of Kargil has protected the integrity of India.
"Honoured to attend the function to observe Kargil Vijay Diwas this morning in the presence of HCM,Shri N.Biren Singh Ji, Hon'ble Ministers,and officials. The victory of Kargil has protected the integrity of India, and we pay our tributes to the brave martyrs who won the battle.The victory has also prepared us to give befitting responses to challenges to our integrity in the decades to come. In the observance of Kargil Vijay Diwas today, it has been encouraging that our state echoes the bravery of the Martyrs and has played a key role in the victory. At a time when challenges are posed to our integrity, we must be prepared for more similar victories," the RD & PR minister wrote in a Facebook post.
Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated on July 26 every year to mark India's victory over Pakistan and to pay respect to the bravehearts who fought valiantly in the 60-day long ‘Operation Vijay’ in 1999.
