When the incident was reported by the local channel Hills Mojo to the Officer-in-Charge of Kangpokpi Police Station, Inspector Henminthang Kipgen, promptly responded to the emergency call and dispatched a team of police to assess the situation under the supervision of SP Kangpokpi.

The police team swiftly acted by deploying a JCB to clear the landslide debris within just three hours, restoring normal traffic flow even before the region was fully aware of the major landslide.
