District Hospital Kangpokpi authority on Friday issued various precautionary measures for effective prevention and control of COVID-19, especially in and around the hospital and public places, concerning the surge in Covid positive cases in the state.
A public notice issued by medical superintendent of District Hospital Kangpokpi Dr Paotinlal Haokip stated that only one caregiver/attendant will be permitted for patients who need assistance/accompany. It strongly urged the patients to visit the hospital alone as far as possible.

It also restricted children less than 12 years of age, the elderly (above 65 years), and patients with known cases of immune deficient conditions like Diabetes, Cancer, Asthma, TB, HIV/AIDS, etc. to visit Hospital premises except for urgent unavoidable medical reasons.
It also informed that only one attendant is permitted for admitted patients.
The public is informed not to visit patients admitted to the hospital except for the caregiver and attendants, it stated. The hospital authority also strongly restricted any attendants or visitors to sit or sleep on patients' beds as well as beside the patients. It further prohibited spitting in and around the hospital or public places.

It also strongly advised every citizen to strictly follow Covid Appropriate Behaviours, such as the use of face masks in hospitals/public places, hand washing with soap and water, or sanitizers before and after entering the hospital and public places.
