Kanglei PANAS set for International day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking

The ‘International day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking’ will be observed on June 26 at GM Hall, Imphal.

Kanglei People against Narcotics (Kanglei PANAS) is set to organise ‘International day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking’ on June 26 at GM Hall, Imphal.

Addressing the media at Manipur Press Club on Thursday, general secretary of Kanglei PANAS, Fudrej Wahaj stated that they have been conducting various movements, initiatives with an objective to combat drug menace in the state. Due to some inconveniences, they had halted their activities for some years.

However, the “War on Drugs” campaign of the present government motivated them to resume their service, Fudrej Wahaj.

He informed that observing the ‘International day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking’ would be their first programme after the revival of their association. To make the observance ceremony a grand success, an organising committee is being formed consisting of five members, he added.

He urged people of the state to extend their co-operation and support the steps to be taken up by them.
