Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Kakching District Task Force (KDTF) has warned shopkeepers against selling goods above the price listed by the state government in Kakching district, saying strict action will be taken against erring shop owners.
It is unfortunate that many shops are selling goods at prices higher than the ones listed by the government when the whole state, especially the daily bread earners, are facing hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic, KDTF said in a release.
Pointing out that some people are delivering psychotropic drugs and liquor at different localities, it said that the KDTF will find out the culprit soon and take appropriate legal action against them.
The district task force also ordered all the shops in Kakching district to display the price list of the goods in their respective shops.
The release stated that under the supervision of the task force, a new association “Irengband Development Association” was formed on Monday. The association consist of eight local clubs of Kakching district - ESCO, MYUC, HACO, JAMA, IYC, SWC, JSLDO and AIFA, it added.
