It also requested prompt and strict action against the culprits involved and assurance of Kamalbabu’s safe return. It highlighted the details of the incident stating that L Kamalbabu Singh, 56 years, son of Late L Kumardhan Singh from Gossaipur, Cachar, Assam, temporarily residing at Loitang Khunou, has been missing since Monday inside 57 Mountain Division Leimakhong.

It mentioned that he was employed as supervisor under M/s L Binod Construction, working inside Leimakhong Army Camp. It said that on Monday morning around 9 am he left for his workplace at Leimakhong Army Camp on a Honda Activa (bearing registration number MN01N-7723).

However, his phone was found switched off when contacted at around 4.15 pm, it noted. It added that upon enquiry with his co-workers, it was reported that his phone had been switched off since 2 pm, and they had no information about his whereabouts.

It further said that when he did not return home by evening, his family grew increasingly concerned, and a written complaint was lodged with the Sekmai Police Station, Imphal West District. It also enclosed a copy of the complaint.

It expressed concern that such an incident occurred within the Army campus and alleged that no explanation or assurance has been provided either by the Army authorities or the Manipur Police.

It maintained that the incident created a state of panic, prompting  public unrest and reiterated its appeal to address the matter at the earliest.
