Invocation ceremony for Manipuri documentary film ‘Lee Amadee Wa’ held in Imphal

AIMS director Atom Sunil Singh stated that the Manipuri documentary film ‘Lee Amadee Wa’ (cane and bamboo) will be based on the Manipuri manuscript ‘Walon Puya’, following the theme of latest development of science and technology revealing many hidden facts and features about cane and bamboo.

An invocation ceremony for Manipuri documentary film titled ‘Lee Amadee Wa’ (cane and bamboo) was organised by Apunba Imaagi Machashing (AIMS) at Sapam Laibung Leikai, Konthoujam on Sunday.

In a release, AIMS director Atom Sunil Singh stated that the Manipuri documentary film ‘Lee Amadee Wa’ (cane and bamboo) will be based on the Manipuri manuscript ‘Walon Puya’, following the theme of latest development of science and technology revealing many hidden facts and features about cane and bamboo.

Artistes of the documentary film include Prithilata Langpoklakpam as the lead actor, Joychand Moirangthem as director, Boby Haobam as chief consultant, Inaocha Khundrakpam as editor and Sanjoy Ch as director of photography respectively, it mentioned.

It added that the invocation ceremony was attended by former vice chancellor of Manipur University Amar Yumnam as the chief guest; CSIR-NEIST senior principal scientist H Birkumar as the president; and Manipur Health Services retired additional director Dr S Manikanta, head of department of Zoology, Manipur University Naorem Mohilal Mietei, Indira Gandhi National Tribal University Homen Thangjam and AIMS president M Khelendro as the guests of honour.
