Fresh orders issued by the Manipur government on Friday announced that the suspension of internet services in the state will be extended for five more days i.e. till 3 pm of May 31.
The order issued by commissioner (Home) H Gyan Prakash stated that further suspension of mobile data services/internet/data services including broadband services and internet/data services through VASTs of Bharatnet Phase-II is further suspended in the territorial jurisdiction of the state of Manipur.
The order is issued to prevent any disturbances of peace and public order in the jurisdiction of the state of Manipur, it stated.
Meanwhile, the Department of Information Technology, Government of Manipur has set up a temporary Internet Facilitation Centre at NIELIT Campus at Akampat in coordination with National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Imphal.
A release issued by director, DIT N Deben stated that the Internet Facilitation Centre is for use by the public during working hours available during the curfew relaxation periods.
