Input seeds distribution programme held

In the programme attended by 37 farmers, input seeds of rice (RC Maniphou 6, RC Maniphou 13), blackgram, maize, groundnut, soyabean and foxtail millet were distributed.

Input distribution programme under National Initiative on Climate Resilient Agriculture (NICRA) was organised by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Chandel at Lambung village on Thursday with the attendance of Anal Lelruwl Tangpi, Chandel Sng Phamhring Anal as chief guest.

In the programme attended by 37 farmers, input seeds of rice (RC Maniphou 6, RC Maniphou 13), blackgram, maize, groundnut, soyabean and foxtail millet were distributed.

Speaking on the occasion, KVK, Chandel head Asem Ameeta Devi highlighted the urgent need for implementation and adoption of climate resilient agriculture practices in the district.

KVK, Chandel SMS (SWCE) Kangjam Sonamani Singh urged the farmers to adopt farming approach that includes sustainable application of natural resources, better water and nutrients management for efficient resource utilisation in order to achieve long term higher farm productivity and farm incomes under climate variability.

Meanwhile, KVK, Chandel on Thursday also organised a training programme under Jal Shakti Abhiyan, 2022 at Lambung village.

In the programme attended by 35 farmers, Kangjam Sonamani Singh stressed on the importance of water conservation, and urged the farmers to adopt water conservation in their lifestyle.
