India-Myanmar border gates to remain closed till February 28

District administration of Tamu, Myanmar, Kyaw Win Oo, stated in a letter to the deputy commissioner of Tengnoupal that the Indo-Myanmar border Gate No.1 and Gate no.2 will remain closed till February 28.

District administration of Tamu, Myanmar, Kyaw Win Oo, stated in a letter to the deputy commissioner of Tengnoupal that the Indo-Myanmar border Gate No.1 and Gate no.2 will remain closed till February 28.

The step is taken up to control and manage the spread of COVID-19 by the Myanmar government, the letter stated.

Meanwhile, even though the Indo-Myanmar border gates are closed, business activities between the two countries were sustained through the porous border. Various Myanmar goods were seen being imported through the unfenced porous border and many Myanmar citizens were seen selling goods in Moreh town.
