Independence Day 2020: Tamenglong DLOs resolve to celebrate I-Day with strict SOPs

All the district level officers/officials who will be participating in the celebration must undergo compulsory medical check-up of COVID 19 through Truenat machine on payment basis.

The district level officers of Tamenglong on Tuesday resolved to celebrate the forthcoming Indian Independence Day celebration with observance of strict SOPs laid down by the Home Department.

The district level officers’ Tamenglong meeting was held at the conference hall of DC Tamenglong chaired by the Deputy Commissioner of Tamenglong, Armstrong Pame. 

The 74th Independence Day would be celebrated at the Jadonang Park, Tamenglong district headquarter as the lower ground is under construction.

The meeting resolved that the celebration will be limited to the district level officers, leaders of CVOs, organisations and chairmen, secretaries of the villages and wards of the district due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

It was also resolved that those participating in this celebration must strictly follow the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) such as wearing masks and social distancing.

All the district level officers/officials who will be participating in the celebration should report by 2.00 pm of August 13 and must undergo compulsory medical check-up of COVID 19 through Truenat machine on payment basis. This is mandatory for those who will be travelling from other districts or places to Tamenglong district headquarters.

All the district level officers will be accommodated at circuit house PWD, Tamenglong and also advised to stay alert and confined till the results of COVID-19 are known.

Meanwhile, the deputy commissioner Tamenglong has notified to give free passage to all the frontliners in view of the exigencies pertaining to COVID-19 and lockdown imposed by the government to curve the spread of the pandemic.

It has been reported that some villages/wards are not allowing frontline workers to take even home quarantine, the DC stated. 

"It may be stated that all frontline workers such as nurses, doctors, multitask workers such as cooks, cleaners, drivers etc. do follow al norms and SOPs as per the protocol,”  he added.  

On completion of their duties, they are sent home with all precautions, the DC further stated while requesting all concerned, including chairman/secretary of all villages/ Wards within the jurisdiction of Tamenglong district to extend full cooperation.
