A 19-year-old youth riding a scooter was killed in a road mishap near Langjing Old Petrol Pump under Lamphel Police Station in Imphal West on Sunday, sources said.
The sources said the victim has been identified as Salam Hemjit, 19, son of S Surjit from Patsoi Part II Makha Leikai.
According to the sources, Hemjit was riding a Honda Activa when he grazed a man riding a bicycle and collided with a car.
“A CCTV camera footage shows that the car which collided with Hemjit stopped for a few minutes and drove away,” it added.
Lamphel Police Station filed a case regarding the incident. After a post mortem was conducted at RIMS mortuary, the body was handed over to the family.
