Imphal International Airport hosts MoU signing under PRADIPTI scheme

PRADIPTI, which stands for ‘Igniting Passion for Aviation’, is a flagship initiative by AAl, designed as a revamped internship policy that seeks to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical industry experience, a release stated.

In a ground-breaking initiative aimed at fostering aviation skills and industry awareness among students, the Airports Authority of India (AAl) at Imphal International Airport hosted a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing event under the PRADIPTI scheme on Wednesday.

The event held in the conference Hall of the Terminal Building, was a significant step towards integrating academic institutions in Imphal with the aviation sector, stated a release. The MoU signifies a commitment to work together in nurturing the next generation of aviation professionals, it stated.

Key educational leaders from 11 renowned institutions across Imphal, including Registrar of IIIT Manipur, Sh Sarbajeet Singh; Dean Computer science Manipur University, Dean Education Central Agriculture University, Indira; Director NIT Manipur, Sh Somayajulu; Principal MIT Imphal Sh Basanta Singh; Director NIELIT, Sh Debachandra Singh and Chairman of Babina Group Sh Thangjam Dhabali were among those present at the event, it noted.

Speaking at the event, Airport Director of Imphal International Airport Chipemmi Keishing said the PRADIPTI scheme will facilitate in equipping students with the knowledge and skills required to excel in the aviation industry, it mentioned. He also discussed the long-term benefits for the students, which include exposure to industry best practices, opportunities for skill enhancement and potential for future employment within the aviation industry, it stated.

While, Nodal Officer for PRADIPTI at Imphal International Airport, Rohit Joshi, detailed the comprehensive overview of the internship policy, explaining the procedure for educational institutions to engage with AAI and also shared insights into the various training modules that will be offered under the scheme, it stated.

The programme featured a detailed Powerpoint presentation outlining the objectives, structure, and expected outcomes of the PRADIPTI scheme as well as a video presentation highlighting various facets of airport operations, demonstrating the practical applications of theoretical knowledge, it mentioned.
