A team of Kakching district police seized a huge number of Indian made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), including beer and arrested one illegal smuggler at Kakching Lamkhai on Monday night.
The arrested person has been identified as one Md Sadam, 20 of Phundrei Sabal Leikai.
The seized liquors are Old Monk 750ml - 48 bottles, Old Monk 375ml - 72 bottles, Old Monk 180ml- 384 bottles, Kingfisher cane-beer 500ml- 240 bottles, Royal Stag 750ml- 36 bottles, Royal stag 375 ml- 24 bottles, Mc Dowells 750 ml- 60 bottles, Mc Dowells 375 ml-120 bottles, Mc Dowells 180 ml- 480 bottles, OC Blue 750 ml-24 bottles, Sterling Reserve 750 ml-12 bottles, Blenders pride 750 ml-12 bottles, Zino Rum 750 ml- 24 bottles and Caravan Whisky 750 ml- 48 bottles.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh on his Facebook page posted the seizing of IMFL with a caption that read, “Illegal oina potyan kaya yansallaba liquor sijinabana lamdam sidgi miyoi kayada chaoraba cheitheng ama pirakli. Masigi issue asi sarkarna kupna yengjanba houkhrabani.” (Consumption of these illegal, adulterated liquors has severely impacted many people of this state. The state government had launched action against these issues.)
