IMA, Raj Medicity condole death of Dr W Motilal Singh

The staff of Raj Medicity on Wednesday extended their deepest condolences on the death of Dr W Motilal Singh, who was one of the pioneer Neurosurgeons in Manipur. A condolence meeting was held at Raj Medicity, Imphal where a two-minute silence was observed in respect of the departed soul.

A release by the Raj Medicity stated that the members present recalled the contributions made by him and his staff in the establishment and development of the Neuro-surgery department at Raj Medicity and his service in the department as senior consultant (Neuro-Surgery) till he became bedridden after suffering from a stroke.

Meanwhile, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Manipur State Branch also deeply condoled the sudden and untimely demise of the senior member of IMA, Dr W Motilal Singh. He completed his MBBS from CMC Vellore (1967 batch) and Mch (Neurosurgery, 1982 batch) from NIMHANS, Bangalore, stated a release. He was instrumental in starting the department of Neurosurgery in JN Hospital, Porompat and had served people of Manipur and neighbouring states, it mentioned.

He was later promoted as the medical superintendent of the same hospital. Before his Superannuation in Jan 2010, he was serving as the medical director of State and Family Welfare, it mentioned. He was the brainchild in establishing JNIMS, Porompat and had christened it to JNIMS from JN hospital, it added.

After his retirement, he joined Rajmedicity, the then Rajpoly Clinic and started the department of Neurosurgery. He worked there till November 2016, it added.

In honour of the departed soul, IMA Manipur State Branch conducted a ‘Condolence Meeting’ at the IMA Hall, Lamphel on Wednesday at 4:30 pm, it mentioned. A one-minute silence was observed in honour of the departed soul, it further stated.

The association shares the sorrow at this juncture and pray that the Lord give strength and succour to the grieving family members to overcome the loss, it added.
