Huge quantity of IMFL, DIC liquor seized, three arrested in Imphal West

As many as 106.08 litre of IMFL with different brands, including beer and 18.5 litre of DIC liquor were detected.

A team of narcotic cell, Imphal West on Tuesday seized a huge quantity of Indian made foreign liquor (IMFL) and distilled indigenous country liquor (DIC) from ‘People Store’ located at Sanakeithel road, Thangmeiband, Imphal West near BRTF camp and arrested three persons.

The drive was conducted under the command of officer-in-charge, narcotic cell, Imphal West under the supervision of superintendent of police, Imphal West S Ibomcha.

The arrested persons were identified as one Salam Deepak,28, son of S Santosh Singh of Thangmeiband Khomdram Selungba Leikai; Rolen Golmei,19, son of Rajen Golmei of Nambol Leimapokpam and Tiganglung Reaimei, 19 of Keithelmanbi.

Police reported that Deepak is the owner of the store where the alcohol was seized. During the drive 106.08 litre of IMFL with different brands, including beer and 18.5 litre of DIC liquor were detected.

The arrested persons along with the seized items have been handed over to the Excise department for further necessary action.
