Heroin seized, four arrested in Kakching

Four people were arrested and drugs seized from their possessions in two separate incidents.

The Kakching district police on Tuesday confiscated 265 grams of suspected heroin in separate incidents on Tuesday.

In one incident, a total of 235 grams of suspected heroin was recovered from Pallel Laimanai Chingjin CDO check point from two persons in a four-wheeler (Maruti Swift).

Police said that the drugs were found concealed inside the panels on both sides of the running board of the vehicle in soap cases while examining the vehicle.

The two identified as Daniel Thangin Haokip, 27, son of Lamthang Haokip of Zion Veng, Tuibuong, Churachandpur and Lunminthang Guite, 24 son of late Ngamjapao Guite of Khamenlok Village, Khamenlok Senapati were arrested on the spot.

In the second instance, the Kakching district commando team seized 30 grams of suspected heroin powder from the possession of two females while searching a rented room at Pallel Bazar.

The two females are identified as Khular Peileng Lamkang, wife of late J Renghon of Lamkang Center and J Sofia Lamkang, care of Wahrething of Lamkang Khunou. Both of them, along with the seized drugs, were handed over to the Kakching police station for further legal proceedings.
