Heart disease detection programme held at Shija Hospitals and Research Institute

A total of 103 children from various parts of Nagaland were given free consultation and free ECHO screening to all registered individuals at a one-day free heart disease detection programme.

A one-day free heart disease detection programme for children aged 0 to 19 was organised by Shija Hospitals and Research Institute (SHRI), Imphal, and National Health Mission-Nagaland under the aegis of Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) on Saturday.

In a release, SHRI stated that during the camp a total of 103 children from various parts of Nagaland were screened by the experts, in which free consultation and free ECHO screening were provided to all the registered individuals. Stating that more than 20 potential patients for ASD Device Closure, VSD Device Closure, PDA device Closure, and open heart surgery cases were detected during the camp, it added that the potential patients will be treated at Shija Hospitals under the RBSK Scheme.

RBSK which is an important initiative of government of India aiming at early identification and early intervention for children from birth to 18 years to cover defects at birth, deficiencies, diseases, development delays including disability, it mentioned.
