A one-day health camp for ponies was organised at Manipuri Pony Breeding Farm, Lamphelpat with the aim to provide the best and continuous medical care for the Manipuri ponies on Saturday.
The health camp was organised by the Department of Animal Sciences, College of Agriculture, Central Agricultural University (CAU) under the aegis of the NRCE Project, Conservation of Manipuri Pony in collaboration with the Manipuri Horse Riding and Polo Association (MHRPA).
During the health camp representatives of polo clubs and pony owners were provided basic medicines and knowledge of common diseases and their preventive measures.
Head of department, Department of Animal Science, CAU, Th Ranadhir Singh while deliberating on the need to provide the best medical care to the Manipuri ponies, stressed the need to save the rare breed from extinction.
