New Tamenglong deputy commissioner, L Angshim Dangshawa, who is also the chairman of Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS), Tamenglong on Friday urged all the students to have big dreams and start working with sincerity and honesty to achieve them.
He was speaking at the valedictory function for EMRS Tamenglong for the 2023 batch at the Mini Secretariat complex Tamenglong.
The ceremony was also attended Tamenglong EMRS principal Shaganglung Pamei, Mary Help of Christian Parish Priest reverend Stanislaus, Rongmei Baptist Churches Council Education and Literature director Jaojianlung Riamei among the guests.
Angshim Dangshawa further encouraged the students, stating that their hard work will be recognised by society.
“Many will say I have done great and accomplished but if you really want to do great things in life, you ask yourself what my dreams are,” he said.
He further narrated how he worked hard to clear the civil services examination, stressing that the competitions are extremely tough.
He said that many students fail to see how parents work day and night for their success. Students need to acknowledge the hard work of their parents, he added. He further urged all the students to come nearer to God. “Seek God’s blessings to achieve greater things in life with humble submission,” he said
Cash awards and citations were given to students who topped the school and students who got letter marks in various subjects.
Tamenglong EMRS principal Shaganglung Pamei congratulated the students on their success.
Never bring disgrace to your parents and do constructive things to bring laurels, he said.
Shaganglung Pamei also gave out cash awards to the teaching and non teaching staff for nurturing and giving proper guidance to the subject toppers.
Students of Eklavya Model Residential School Tamenglong presented beautiful traditional dances during the event.
EMRS Tamenglong became fully functional in the year 2015 with 90 students from class 6 to 9. The school is affiliated to the central board of secondary education (CBSE). Students of class 10 and class 12 achieved excellent performance in the recently declared CBSE board board examination.
