Gun attack on houses of three retired Army personnel in Imphal East

Armed miscreants fired several rounds of bullets and pelted stones at the residences of three retired Army personnel

Armed miscreants attacked the residences of three retired Army personnel at Keirao Makting Awang Leikai in Imphal East at around 2 pm on Friday. The miscreants shot several rounds and pelted stones on the houses of the retired personnel, sources said

The three retired Army personnel are Md Ibrahim, Md Lambu and Md Salim of Keirao Makting Awang Leikai under Irilbung police station in Imphal East.

The family members strongly condemned the attack. One of the families told the media that besides firing several rounds of bullets, the armed miscreants also pelted stones at their residences at night.

A residential gate, the glass window pane of an auto rickshaw parked at the courtyard and some property were also damaged during the attack.

The family reported that similar incidents of shooting had earlier occurred at the residence of retired Army personnel Md Ibrahim and his son, retired Navy personnel Md Suraj Khan.

The family members appealed to those responsible for the attack not to repeat similar incidents in the future.

A case has been registered at Irilbung police station for further investigation.
