Governor La Ganesan, CM Biren extend Republic Day 2022 greetings

“On this day, let us reaffirm our unwavering commitment to uphold the ideals of our constitution, advocate unity in diversity, fraternity and equality among all our citizens and strengthen our republic”.

Manipur Governor La Ganesan and Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Tuesday extended greetings and well wishes to the people of the state on the eve of India's Republic Day 2022.

In his message, Biren stated, “Every year, January 26 is celebrated with festivities and patriotic fervour all around the country. It commemorates the enactment of the Constitution of India which came into full force on January 26, 1950 and made our country a sovereign, socialist, secular, and democratic republic”.

Recalling the struggles of the freedom fighters for ‘Purna Swaraj’, he said, “We owe the brave warriors for our privileges to fundamental rights as a citizen of a democratic country.”

“On this day, let us reaffirm our unwavering commitment to uphold the ideals of our constitution, advocate unity in diversity, fraternity and equality among all our citizens and strengthen our republic,” the chief minister added.

The governor stated, “On this day in 1950, we gave ourselves a constitution which is the guiding principle of our country.”

Ganesan stated that India is poised to become one of the leading nations of the world with its progress in science and technology backed by a young and dynamic population. “We have to harness the potential of our youth in the right direction so that they become our main assets for the future,” he added.

The governor invited the public to “re-direct ourselves to uphold and promote the secular, socialist and democratic values enshrined in our constitution and work collectively to make our country great.”
