Governor, CM, ministers extend New Year wishes to people in Manipur

"I join the people of Manipur in celebrating New Year Day 2022 and hope that the coming year will be much better and more prosperous as compared to all the previous years," Governor La Ganesan said.

Manipur Governor La Ganesan, Chief Minister and his ministers on Friday extended wishes to the people of the state on the occasion of New Year 2022.

In his message, the governor stated, “It is a pleasure and a privilege for me to wish the people of Manipur a very Happy New Year - 2022. New Year's Day is for making new resolutions.

“As we enter 2022, let us all resolve to work together for creating harmony and perfect peace in all parts of Manipur during the coming year. I join the people of Manipur in celebrating New Year Day 2022 and hope that the coming year will be much better and more prosperous as compared to all the previous years”.

The chief minister said in his message, “The start of a new year is always a time of reflection and contemplation. The year 2021 has been a year of progress coupled with landmark achievements for our State. We made several inroads and made good progress in the health, education, welfare and infrastructure sectors.”

“I believe 2022 will be a year of renewed hope and confidence in our ability to face and overcome challenges, as we continue to move on the road to greater progress. With the advent of New Year, let us resolve, reaffirm and commit ourselves towards building a peaceful, harmonious and prosperous Manipur,” he stated.   

He expressed his gratitude to the people for their cooperation for peaceful coexistence between hills and valley.

He further wished the people to celebrate the dawn of a new year with fun and gaiety but also warned that drinking and driving, driving without helmet and license, and minors driving are strictly prohibited. “With case of Omicron rising rapidly in other states, taking care of our health should be our top priority,” he added.

Tourism minister Oinam Lukhoi Singh also extended his wishes on the occasion.

The New Year is the perfect occasion to appreciate all the good things that the past year has given everyone and all the good things that are yet to come; every end marks a new beginning, he stated in his message.

“Let us all keep our spirits and determination unshaken, and always walk the glory road. With courage, faith and great effort, we shall collectively achieve everything for the development of our State, Manipur. Wishing all a Prosperous, Healthy and the Happiest Year ahead,” he stated.  

Conveying his greetings, Works Minister Th Biswajit Singh stated, “May every day of the New Year inspire us to grow towards peace, unity and development.  I once again wish the people of the State a healthy and prosperous New Year 2022.”

Employment Minister Th Satyabrata wished, “Let us pledge to make Manipur one of the best states in the country. Let us resolve to make Manipur a better state in all aspects,” in his message.
