He explained that the Good Governance Day (Sushasan Divas) is observed annually across the country on December 25 to celebrate the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna awardee and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee who gave a major impetus towards sustainable growth of the country.

He conveyed that Good Governance Day was established in 2014 to honour Prime Minister Vajpayee by fostering awareness among the Indian people of accountability in the government.

He said that the aim of observing this day is to let the students and citizens of the country know about the duties and responsibilities of the government they need to fulfil. Good Governance Day acts as a reminder to the government about their responsibilities and the government should be unbiased, transparent and development-oriented, he added.
