GOC assures safety of Army contractors

GOC appealed to the contractors working in Leimakhong Army Camp to continue with their work without any fear.

The 57th Mountain Division GOC has assured to take up security measures for the safety of the contractors working in Leimakhong Army Camp.

Military Engineering Services Contractor Association President N. Pradip, Secretary Ibo and victim contractor N Thoiba had a meeting with 57th Mountain Division GOC, Deputy GOC and GE in Charge on Friday regarding the incident of two suspected Kuki militants dressed in army uniform trying to abduct contractor Thoiba from Leimakhong Army Camp Gate No 3 on Thursday.

The GOC said that they are trying to apprehend the two suspected Kuki militants and added that they relaxed security in the area as the village chiefs of nearby villages assured them of no untoward incidents in the area.

But strict security measures will be taken up in the area and all the village chiefs will be summoned to arrest the two miscreants, the GOC said.
