‘Getting party ticket is step to landslide victory’
Huri Golmei fervently assured that he would work hard for the welfare of Tamenglong and remove the tag, ‘most backward district’ from Tamenglong.

Tamenglong assembly constituency BJP ticket winner Huri Golmei on Sunday said that he is happy to receive the party ticket and expressed hope that getting the party ticket is a stepping stone to achieving a landslide victory in the forthcoming 12th Manipur Assembly election.
Huri Golmei expressed his sincere thanks to the God Almighty and all the party assessment team for conducting a fair assessment.
He further expressed gratitude to the citizens of Tamenglong for supporting him to bring development in the district.
He fervently assured that he would work hard for the welfare of Tamenglong and remove the tag, ‘most backward district’ from Tamenglong.
He also informed that many villages have come forward and declared to extend fullest cooperation and support.
In 53-Tamenglong assembly constituency, there are three candidates that sought for the BJP ticket. They are former MLA Samuel Jendai, former MLA Janghemlung Panmei and retired DFO Huri Golmei.
On getting the BJP ticket, he along with his supporters celebrated the moment with singing and dancing at his residence in Namdunlong in Imphal. Celebrations are also held at his election office in Tamenglong.
Meanwhile, disappointed workers of Samuel Jendai and Janghemlung Panmei burnt down BJP flags, caps, banners, mufflers, among in protest.
No untoward incidents have been reported till the filing of this report.
Sources close to Samuel Jendai and Janghemlung Panmei told the media that they are yet to make decisions; however, they are looking to take strong ones.
