The beneficiaries were provided free LPG connections through M/S Haokip Gas Service Moreh. Speaking to the media, the minister said he came to learn that many BPL families in Kwatha village did not get the PMUY scheme.

The matter came to light when he visited the village, he said, adding that BPL families were assured that their names will be included in the beneficiaries’ lists.

“As assured earlier, we have provided free LPG connection to 34 BPL women of whom only one beneficiary is from Sahei village while the remaining 33 women are from Kwatha village,” Letpao added.

The BPL families which did not get the schemes must submit their names to the authorities concerned so that they can get the same in the coming days, he said.

He said the BJP government under PM Modi is committed to work for the downtrodden and marginalised sections.

He said that the scheme was implemented under the goodwill vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with an aim of providing clean-cooking fuel to poor households, so as to reduce the burden of women and indoor air pollution and to bring qualitative life.

The scheme will increase the usage of LPG and it would help in reducing health disorders, air pollution and deforestation, he added.

The minister also held a meeting with the leaders of Meetei Council Moreh in Moreh at the office of MCM. At the meeting, minister Letpao Haokip discussed matters concerning road connectivity and the Inter Village Roads (IVR) of the town.

He informed the MCM leaders to take initiative for the expansion of IVR as most of the IVR in the town is narrow and is difficult for emergency movements of fire service and health vehicles.

He said that if the IVRs are expanded, all roads will be black topped within this December. He also discussed on the law and order situation of the town and appealed to the public for maintaining peace and harmony between different communities.
