In a bid to help save lives and ease problems faced by patients from Tamenglong district hospital while finding a place to stay on being referred to Imphal, a social worker announced free homestay for such patients.
The free facility will be available only for medical emergencies which are referred to Imphal from Tamenglong district hospital and facing difficulties in finding an affordable place to stay, said Akinsin Gangmei, speaking to the Imphal Free Press.
In the effort to save lives of critical patients, doctors from the district hospital refer them to better health facilities in Imphal. However, poor families face difficulties in finding a place to stay, he said.
"Considering the difficulties which poor families go through, I started the initiative, so that their burden can be lessened and lives can be saved,” Gangmei, who was also an MP nominee, said.
