In a bid to curb the spread of various vector-borne diseases in Manipur, Kekru Yairi Club Yairipok (KYCY) and Kekru Yairi Women Development Organisation jointly conducted a cleanliness and fogging drive in and around Yairipok Kekru Ward Number 9 in Thoubal district on Wednesday.
The activity was carried out under the initiative of the District Vector Borne Disease Control Society, Thoubal. It aimed to prevent the spread of mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue, malaria and Japanese encephalitis etc. in the district.
Staff of primary health sub-centre Kekru and ASHA workers also participated in the drive. Mention may be made that KYCY had also conducted a cleanliness drive in Ward no 9 areas under the jurisdiction of the club two days ago.
