The Federation of Civil Society Organisations (FOCS), Manipur, on Sunday fervently encouraged the youth of Manipur to embrace a strong sense of patriotism and dedication to their motherland.
Speaking on the sideline of the 133rd Patriots’ Day commemoration at its office in Imphal, FOCS president Th Manihar emphasised the unwavering determination exhibited by the forebears of Manipur in safeguarding their homeland.
Stressing the need to evoke the sacrificial spirit that coursed through the veins of Manipur’s forefathers, he highlighted the remarkable unity and resolve demonstrated by the Meetei youth in their resistance against the ongoing Kuki aggression.
This display of resolute determination showcases the enduring legacy of the forefathers within the Meitei youths, bridging generations in the quest to uphold the integrity of Manipur, he added.

Manihar further stressed that this collective patriotic sentiment serves as the driving force propelling the people of Manipur to stand resilient against the challenges posed by the Kuki aggression.
When the entirety of Manipuri society is imbued with a courageous spirit, prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice for the betterment of their motherland, no external forces can thwart their united efforts to safeguard Manipur, he said.
The president lastly urged all the people of Manipur to rise as defenders of Manipur, envisioning a brighter future for the region.
The event was jointly organised by FOCS in collaboration with the Universal Mothers’ Organisation, Manipur Women’s Federation, and Manipur Keithel Nupi Marup.
As part of the commemoration, attendees paid heartfelt floral tributes to the brave souls and valiant freedom fighters of Manipur who laid down their lives while fervently fighting for the protection and preservation of Manipur’s sovereignty.
