First virtual meeting of the executive council of National Sports University (NSU) was held on Tuesday at the conference hall of Manipur Olympic Bhavan, Khuman Lampak, Imphal East.
Vice-chancellor of NSU and chairman of executive council, RC Mishra made a brief presentation to the council about the present status of the university and its road map for future growth. He informed that NSU will collaborate with Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) to offer joint programmes in sports science and sports medicine, a release stated.
The vice-chancellor also briefed the council members about his plans to shift the campus in the next 15 months. He further mentioned that developmental works of the approach road to the new campus is needed to be initiated by the state government so that the road would be ready by next year, the release stated.
Mishra has urged the council members to contribute their valuable expertise and experiences while setting up the new institution of NSU, it stated.
The council thereafter took up a formal agenda for the meeting and nominated members of the executive council for various committees. Various important statutes of the university were also approved, the release stated.
The meeting was also attended by secretary (Sports), Bobby Waikhom and RIMS director Dr A Santa, it added.
