Financial aid provided to bereaved VDF family
VDF Welfare Association Thoubal District handed over the financial aid of Rs 2 lakh to Asuppa’s wife Laishram (O) Bimola Devi at their residence at Khangbok Lamlong.

A financial aid of Rs 2 lakh was provided by VDF Welfare Association Thoubal District on Tuesday to the bereaved family of late VDF personnel Laishram Asuppa who passed away on May 2.
In a release, VDF Welfare Association Thoubal District stated that under the supervision of Thoubal district Police Station SP Jogesh Chandra Haobijam, the association handed over the financial aid of Rs 2 lakh to Asuppa’s wife Laishram (O) Bimola Devi at their residence at Khangbok Lamlong. Recalling that Laishram Asuppa was posted at Khangabok Moirangpali under his VDF number 1693, it added that Asuppa passed away on May 2 after fighting an illness.
The event was attended by executive members of VDF Welfare Association Thoubal, deputy SP commando Thoubal and cashier Ph Hemba, it mentioned.
The team will also provide financial aid of Rs 10,000 to VDF M Premchand Singh who is undergoing treatment for his health complication, it continued.
It stated that the association has been conducting various services for the VDF community with the limited financial privilege of the VDFs. The Association appealed to the state government to provide service security and service Regular Recruit (RR) for the VDFs, in order to encourage the VDFs in maintaining the law and order in the state.
