Financial aid was provided to the bereaved family of late Sorokhaibam Sanajaoba, who passed away on August 23 owing to liver complications by the Like Minded Group (LMG), Manipur on Thursday.
In a release, LMG stated that a team of LMG members led by secretary S Ojit Singh provided the financial aid of Rs 12,600 to the bereaved family of late Sorokhaibam Sanajaoba who had passed away owing to his liver complications.
It stated that Sanajaoba and his family had even sold their lands off to pay for his treatments at a private hospital. Sanajaoba’s family of two daughters and wife Sonia will be left with no home after his funeral ceremony on September 5, it continued. It drew the attention of chief minister N Biren to provide a residence for the bereaved family.
The event was attended by LMG publicity secretary Rakesh Naorem along with LMG members including Keke Wahengbam, Surendra Ningombam, Kunjeshwar Mangsatabam, Sobita Maibam, Nirmala Rajkumari, Birla Salam, Devikarani Phurailatpam, Suni Nongthongbam and Khaidem Janina Devi, it informed.
It stated that speaking at the event, Rakesh Naorem expressed regret that LMG could not provide the financial aid for the treatment of Sorokhaibam Sanajaoba in time. He also appealed to the people of the state to extend support to the bereaved family of Sanajaoba in order to help them buy their lands back.
Conveying gratitude to CM N Biren, LMG members and the people who extended support, wife of late Sorokhaibam Sanajaoba, Sorokhaibam (O) Sonia appealed to CM N Biren and the people of the state to help her and her two daughters in getting a place to stay.
As part of the event, the LMG members observed a one minute silence to pay respect to late Sanajaoba.
