In a road mishap, a man and his two daughters died after the car (Maruti 800) they were riding fell into a ditch located near Slow Land Oil Pump at Samurou under Wangoi Police Station in Imphal West around 6.30 pm on Monday.
The deceased persons have been identified as Kongkham Jayanta, 39, son of K Kumar from Uchiwa Mamang Leikai, K Abi, 13, and K Biju, 4.
They had gone to have dinner at their in-laws’ residence at Taobungkhok in Imphal West on the fateful evening. They were returning back and on their way home when their vehicle fell into the ditch.
They were rushed to RIMS by a team of Wangoi Police Station but succumbed to their injuries after reaching the hospital. The bodies have been kept at RIMs for conducting post mortem examinations but they were collected by the family members who did not wish to proceed with any legal formalities.
