During a community function held at the community hall of Luwangsangbam Maning Leikai, U-Ningthou saplings were distributed alongside plastic bottle banks to local villagers.

The event also coincided with the stocking of fish fingerlings in community ponds across Manipur, highlighting a comprehensive approach to environmental stewardship under the leadership of Chief Minister N Biren Singh.

In her address, N Hiyainu praised the planting of the state tree, U-Ningthou, as a testament to the government’s commitment to ecological conservation. “This plantation effort will significantly enhance the local ecosystem,” she stated.

Additionally, Hiyainu highlighted the benefits of sustainable fish farming, which is conducted without harmful chemicals.
