Three people were arrested in two separate incidents, one of drug trafficking case and another of suspected stolen car case in Thoubal district on Sunday, Thoubal Police said.
According to the police, as part of an ongoing drive in connection with the war against drugs, a joint police team carried out a house-to-house search operation from 4 am till 8 am at Moijing Lamkhai area.
During the operation, the police team arrested two drug dealers, namely Thoubalmayum Rafique ,43, son of Th Siraj Ahamad of Moijing Thoubalmayum Leikai and his wife Leirang, 35, a resident of Moijing Thoubalmayum along with 17.10 grams of Heroin No 4 and Rs 64,000 cash from their house.
The operation was carried out by a joint team of Thoubal commando and Civil Police led by DSP(CDO) O Iboton Singh and assisted by OC,CDO Thoubal inspector N Sadananda and OC/Thoubal Police station inspector Kh Dilipkumar Singh, OC Yairipok Police station Inspector Jaheruddin under the overall supervision of Superintendent of Police, Thoubal, Jogeshchandra Haobijam.
The sources also said that another person namely Moijingmayum Nakib, 24, son of M Rahisuddin of Moijing Awang along with one white Hyundai Creta Car bearing registration number MN 04A/2375 suspected to be a stolen vehicle and a cash of Rs 55,000 were seized from his house.
The arrested persons along with the seized articles have been handed over to Thoubal Police station in two separate cases for further investigation.
