The Aimol Students' Union, Manipur (ASUM) has strongly condemned the incident wherein the home of Dr Sialloa Khupkhothang Aimol at Amazing Grace Dental Care, 1st Street, New Lambulane, Near Tribal Market in Imphal was looted on Monday.

Dr Sialloa Khupkhothang Aimol is a government employee serving the public 24 hours but his home can't be even protected by the state government and central forces, ASUM stated.

When questioned, the central forces deployed at that specific area replied, "we don't have any order to intervene and to protect any property. We are here just for ROP", ASUM stated, adding that the state police and central forces deployed at various areas means namesake duties.

"The law and Order situation has failed to protect our property and people. Various incidents have happened to us till date. The government kept on remaining silent," ASUM said.

The student body also questioned why "no action is taken to any individual who lootes our property and abducts our People". It then appealed not to repeat such an unethical act in the future, warning that if repeated, they would be compelled to give a befitting reply.

The majority of Meitei and various CSOs of the valley always look forward to peace but few miscreants should not take advantage of the present crisis, ASUM said. The few miscreants, for their personal benefits, shouldn't touch properties or any person belonging to Naga Tribe. Their actions of carelessness would bring disunity that may lead to greater misunderstanding, the Aimol student body stated.
