For the first time ever, entrepreneurs, academicians and doctors of Manipur on Sunday came together in an effort to save the environment.
Initiated by Unacco Groups of Company, a tree plantation drive by entrepreneurs of Manipur was taken up at the campus of the upcoming residential school of Unacco at Chanung in Imphal East.
The tree saplings planted on Sunday are mostly fruit bearing trees having high survival rate such as mango, foxtail and date palm among others.
Speaking on the occasion, managing director of Unacco, N Irabanta, said the three planted today will be enjoyed by the upcoming generation.
He announced that the Unacco Residential School will keep the profile history of all the entrepreneurs who participated in the tree plantation drive, in the school library to encourage the students.
Managing director of Babina Group, Dr Th Dhabali; proprietor of Thangjam Agro, Th Joykumar; MD of Medilane, Dr Pibarel and MU professor, Ch Priyoranjan, were among the entrepreneurs and academicians who took part in the drive.
